Dorothy (Woodward) Cook
Dorothy Woodward Cook, age 88, of Uniontown, Pa., passed away Wednesday, August 10, 2005, in the Marquis House. She was born in 1917, in Uniontown, Pa., the daughter of the late George and Gertrude Hayden Woodward.
Dorothy was a member of Brownfield United Methodist Church and a graduate of South Union High School Class of 1936.
Dorothy was a former Sunday School Teacher at White Rock Methodist Church, a leader of Girl Scout Troop 2 of Rosedale, a member of Rebekah Lodge 103, the Circle Club, the Flower Bowling League and the Uniontown Hospital Volunteer for 17 years.
She is survived by her husband, Walter H. Cook; a son Barry and wife, Twila, formerly Twila Pryor of Fairchance, Pa., now living in Seneca, S.C.; two grandsons, Brian D. and wife, Mindi of Houston, Texas, and Eric J. of Dallas, Texas; two great-grandsons, Evan and Connor, sons of Brian and Mindi. Several nephews and nieces also survive her; Ronald Miller, Harold Miller, Billy Maust, June Johnson, Joyce Rodehaver, Gertrude Myers, Arlene Hoyle, Betty Wierman, Waneta Havanis, Doris Braham and Tillie Miller.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the ANDREW D. FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME, INC., 80 Morgantown Street, Uniontown, Pa., where friends will be received today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and Sunday from noon until 2 p.m. and 6 until 8 p.m.
Visitation will continue Monday from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. followed by the funeral service with the Rev. Randy Costolo officiating. Interment will follow in LaFayette Memorial Park Cemetery.
