Stanley F. Stechly, 88, of Scenery Hill, Pa., died Friday, Aug. 12, 2005, at 10:17 p.m., in his home. Mr. Stechly was a 1935 graduate of Ellsworth-Cokeburg High School. He had been a coal miner for Bethlehem Mines Corporation at Mine No. 51 in Ellsworth for many years before retiring in 1979.

He is survived by one son, Robert F. Stechly and his wife, Judith of Wheeling, W.Va.; one daughter, Judy Snyder and her husband, James of Scenery Hill; one sister, Catherine Puskarich of Ellsworth; one brother, Frank Stechly Jr., of Charleroi; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Friends will be received from 6 to 9 p.m., today and from noon to 9 p.m., on Monday in the Greenlee Funeral Home, 619 Main St., Bentleyville, where prayers will be held at 9:30 a.m., on Tuesday, Aug. 16, 2005. The family suggests memorial contributions may be made to Ave Maria School, PO Box 590, Ellsworth, PA 15331, and to the Ave Maria Church, 126 Church St., Bentleyville, PA 15314.
