James L. Smith
James L. Smith, age 57, of Pittsburgh, Pa., and formerly of Uniontown, Pa., died Thursday, August 11, 2005, in his home surrounded by his wife and family. He was born August 27, 1947, in Smock, Pa., to Robert Smith and Mary Modestine Smith.
James was predeceased by his parents, his brother, Walter “Shep” Smith, and two sons, James “Bro” Smith and Shawn Allen “Yogi Bear” Smith.
Surviving are his wife, Charmaine Smith; two daughters: Kameshia Ford of Pittsburgh, Pa., and Alashia Ford of Decatur, Georgia; sons: Mike Smith and Jody LaShaw Ford both of Uniontown, Pa., and Anthony Quinn Ford of New Salem, Pa.; grandchildren: Shaqursia, Dastiny, Mahogony, Steven, Elizabeth, Michel, Aesa and Morgan; one sister, Waugeana Smith Mitchell and husband, the Rev. Claude Mitchell, of Grindstone, Pa.; his mother-in-law, Elizabeth Ford of Uniontown, Pa.; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Annette, Denise, Frank Fant, Chiquitta, Cathleen Fant, Barbara Jackson, Louise McFarland, Lamont Shannon, Charles Ford, Bruce Fant and Hugh Fant Sr.; also many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Friends will be received in the MURIEL E. LANTZ FUNERAL HOME, 297 East Main Street, Uniontown, Pa., on Wednesday, August 17, from 6 to 9 p.m., the hour of Services.
