Viola May Phillips Arnold
Viola May Phillips Arnold, 78, of Uniontown, Pa., passed away on Wednesday, Aug. 17, 2005, in Allegheny General Hospital. She was born on May 18, 1927, in Herbert, Pa., the daughter of the late Charles Olen Phillips and Inez Elizabeth Jenkins Phillips.
She enjoyed caring for her flowers and yard pond.
Surviving are her husband, James R. Arnold Sr., with whom she would have celebrated their 59th wedding anniversary on Nov. 5, 2005; five children, William Arnold and wife, Linda of Uniontown, Pa., James Arnold Jr., and wife, Mary Kay of Uniontown, Pa., Betty Arnold of Uniontown, Pa., Harold Arnold and wife, Sarah of Uniontown, Pa., and Cindy Arnold of Uniontown, Pa.; a granddaughter, who she raised, Mary Cerullo and husband, Art of Uniontown, Pa.; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and an aunt, Martha Yoders of Brownsville, Pa.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two sisters, Betty Jean Phillips and Cora Harriet Frost.
Friends will be received in the SKIRPAN FUNRAL HOME, 680 Cherry Tree Lane, Uniontown, Pa., on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., where a funeral service will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m., with Pastor Ricardo Alicastro officiating. Interment will be in Pleasant View Cemetery.
