Charges pending State police said charges are pending blood alcohol tests for a 33-year-old Connellsville man who was stopped for a routine traffic violation along Route 119 and found to be under the influence of alcohol Saturday at 2:05 a.m.

State police said Carl Akers, 42, of Uniontown was charged with simple assault after he struck Anna Akers, 51, also of Uniontown in the head with a knickknack during an argument at a residence along Gallatin Avenue Wednesday.

Appliance stolen

State police said Lester Yauger Jr., 39, of Mt. Braddock was taken into police custody Thursday after he allegedly attempted to steal an air conditioner from Rex Appliances at Uniontown Mall and led mall security and police on a foot chase after abandoning the appliance at his vehicle around 2:23 p.m.

Man charged

State police said Michael Haines of Smithfield was charged with simple assault, harassment and criminal mischief after he grabbed Delia Danko of Uniontown by the neck during an argument at an apartment along Woodview Terrace and then broke a window in the rear of the building Friday at 6:45 a.m.

Money stolen

Barbara Kessler, 37, of Lemont Furnace told state police that someone stole $75 from her purse sometime between July 20 and Wednesday.

Television stolen

State police said someone stole a 25-inch television, a Toshiba video cassette recorder, a telephone and a Kenmore window air conditioning unit owned by April Shroyer, 27, from her High Street residence between 5 p.m. Thursday and 1 p.m. Friday.

Rocks thrown

According to state police, a known 17-year-old girl threw rocks at the Liberty Street home of Eric Miller Thursday at 6:30 p.m.

South Connellsville

One-car crash

State police said Michael Murphy of South Connellsville suffered moderate injuries when the vehicle he was traveling in struck a utility pole along South Pittsburgh Street Tuesday at 9:20 a.m.

Motorcycle found

State police said a motorcycle owned by Ian Fischer, 37, of Uniontown that had been reported stolen was found along Santillo Lane Thursday at 7:40 p.m.

Window damaged

According to state police, someone threw a rock through the window of a vehicle parked along Route 711 between 3:30 p.m. Monday and 1 p.m. Tuesday.

Vehicle stolen

State police said a white 1993 Ford F250 pickup owned by Appalachian Industries of Perryopolis was stolen from a lot along Route 88 sometime on Monday or Tuesday.

James Foltz, 33, of Uniontown told state police that someone entered his Brown Street residence and stole nearly $2,000 worth of items between 3 p.m. Aug. 4 and 11 p.m. Friday.

One-car crash

State police said no one was injured when a vehicle operated by Suzanne Venneri of Fayette City swerved to miss a deer and struck a guide rail along Tony Row Road at 12:40 a.m. Saturday.

Girl charged

State police said a Uniontown girl was charged with harassment after an altercation with Bonnie Hixon, 45, of West Leisenring at a Second Street residence in North Union Township Friday.

Juvenile struck

State police said a known Uniontown woman struck a juvenile during an argument at a residence along Searights Herbert Road Friday at 5:30 p.m.

Police dog used

City police said Officer Mike Garrow Sr. and his K-9, Sheiko, aided state police in an investigation Friday at 9 p.m. at Woodview Terrace. Police said Sheiko was used to control the crowd and said the K-9 also searched various areas for contraband.

A bag of suspected marijuana and a scale were found, police said.

Drugs stolen

City police said someone smashed the driver’s side window out of a vehicle owned by John McManon of 107 Millview St. at 10:10 p.m. Friday and removed various pain medications from the vehicle.

Bicycle stolen

Mark A. Smida of Uniontown told city police a white male with blond hair hit him in the face and stole his bicycle Friday at 10:10 p.m. Police said Smida told them the man said he had a gun and hit him after Smida refused to give the man his bicycle and wallet.

The 20-inch bicycle is black with red spokes and a purple seat.

House burglarized

City police said Jerri Jones of Uniontown told officers someone entered her 22 Millview St. residence sometime between Aug. 14 and Thursday and removed several unidentified items from her house.

Juvenile cited

City police said a 15-year-old Uniontown boy was cited for curfew violations, disorderly conduct and the sale or use of air rifles after the boy allegedly shot at cars in the area of Lincoln, Murray and Hortense Streets with a pellet gun Friday at 11:46 p.m.

Police said the boy was taken into custody and released to his father.
