Ruthella Mae Goodwin Reed
Ruthella Mae Goodwin Reed, 85, of Connellsville, Pa., passed away Friday, Aug. 19, 2005, at Excela Frick Hospital, Mount Pleasant. She was born May 30, 1920, in Adelaide, Pa.., a daughter of the late George and Mary Goodwin.
Ruthella “Ruth” was Protestant by faith and a member of Connellsville Revival Center.
She was employed at the former Connellsville Y.M.C.A. and Highlands Hospital Snack Bar.
Ruth is survived by two sons, Wildie “Bud” Richter and George “Sonny” Richter, both of Connellsville; a daughter, Wilma “Beck” Edwards and husband, John of South Connellsville; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Ida Breakiron of Somerset, and Grace Whoolery and Jean Monahan and husband, Buster, all of Connellsville; four brothers, George Goodwin and wife, Daisy of Kiesterville, Donald Goodwin and wife, Shirley, James Goodwin and wife, Sherrill and Ray Goodwin, all of Connellsville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Elmer and Ben Goodwin.
Family and friends will be received in the VITO C. MARTUCCI FUNERAL HOME, 123 South First St., West Side, Connellsville, on Monday from 1 to 9 p.m., and Tuesday until 11 a.m., the hour of service, with Pastor Charles E. Pringle officiating. Interment will follow in Dickerson Run Cemetery.
