Violet E. Mehalik
Violet E. Mehalik, 79, of Tower Hill 2, Pa., passed away Thursday, Aug. 18, 2005, in Cherry Tree Nursing Center, Uniontown, Pa. She was born Oct. 3, 1925, in Haydentown, Pa., a daughter of James R. Brownfield and Phoebe Brady Brownfield.
Violet was a member of Holy Rosary Church of Republic, the Tower Hill 2 Ladies Club, the Ladies Auxiliary of Tower Hill 2 Fire Department, and had been employed at Holy Rosary School as a cook.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Martin J. Mehalik in 1963, a son, Martin J. Mehalik in 1972, sisters, Daisy Ellsworth, Virginia McDonough, Ruby Krysak and Nora Bolen, a brother, Frank Brownfield, and her parents.
Surviving are his sons, Roy Mehalik and wife, Betty of Tower Hill 2, James Mehalik and wife, Linda of Smock, Charles Mehalik and wife, Paulette of Filbert, Pa., Robert Mehalik and wife, Sharon of Tower Hill 2, Matthew Mehalik and wife, Renee of Tower Hill 2, and George Mehalik of Tower Hill 2; 13 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; sisters, Mary Durda of Masontown, Pa., Hazel Camino of Brownsville, Pa., and Garnet Brownfield of Uniontown, Pa.; and brothers, Charles Brownfield of Jane Lew, W.Va., Russell Brownfield of Pittsburgh, Pa., Harry Brownfield of Cleveland, Ohio, George Brownfield of Perry, Ohio, Robert Brownfield of Columbus, Ohio, and Homer Brownfield of McClellandtown, Pa.
Friends will be received in the ROBERT T. KISH FUNERAL HOME INC., Legion Street, Republic, Pa., today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and Monday until 9:30 a.m., when a Prayer Service will be held. A Funeral Mass follows at 10 a.m., in Holy Rosary Church, with the Rev. Fr. Stephen Bugay as Celebrant. Interment will be in LaFayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill, Pa. A Parish Wake Service will be held today at 3:30 p.m.
