Allen Kenneth Morris
Allen Kenneth Morris, age 96, of Waynesburg passed away August 21, 2005 at 1:45 p.m. in his home surrounded by his family. He owned and operated the Morris Hardwood Lumber Company and was known throughout Greene County as an expert sawyer, sawing his last log at the age of 92.
He was a farmer and raised stock on the family farm in Franklin Township. He served one term as School Director of Franklin Township and one term as Franklin Township Road Supervisor.
He was a life member of Waynesburg BPOE 757 Elks and Waynesburg Moose 461. He was a charter member of the Broken Twelve Hunting Lodge and affiliated with the Oak View United Methodist Church.
Surviving are his wife of 75 years, Ruth Roche Morris; three sons: George A and wife, Carolyn James “Jake” and wife, Barbara and Robert K. and wife, Carolyn all of Waynesburg, Pa.; six daughters: June and husband, Walter Sloan of Cincinnati, Ohio, Joann McNeely of Morgantown, W. Va., Nancy and husband, Allan Harry of Melbourne, Fla., Virginia and husband, William McNeely and Martha Todorov both of Waynesburg, and Brenda and husband, Thad Ninnemann of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.; 24 grandchildren; 45 great grandchildren; and 21 great great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday at the Behm Funeral Homes Inc., 182 West High Street, Waynesburg, Chuck Behm, director where services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday.
