Girl missing
State police said 15-year-old Evelyn Hughes was reported missing Monday after she left her home Sunday at 11:20 p.m. to walk the family dog. She was last seen on Clover Street. Police ask anybody with information about the girl to call the station at 724-929-6262.

Threat reported
City police said John Mikita of South Mount Vernon Avenue reported that he found a note threatening harm to his family in his mailbox Sunday morning. Police said the note, which contained words cut from magazines, read, “Drop out of the 51st District race now or else your little family will not be safe. Do not go to the police.” The incident is under investigation.

Fire reported
No one was injured in a residential structure fire Sunday at 12:13 a.m. on Waltersburg Road, according to Fayette 911. Volunteer firefighters from New Salem, Smock, Flatwoods, West Leisenring, North Union Township and DL&V responded, along with Fayette EMS. They cleared the scene at 3:15 a.m. State police fire marshals were notified about the fire.

Guns stolen
State police said a .22-caliber bolt-action rifle and a .32-caliber pistol owned by Joseph E. Silbaugh were stolen from his 1 Grace Lane, Smithfield, residence Saturday.

Car stolen
A gray 1990 Chevrolet Corsica, bearing Pennsylvania registration FGF-3644 and owned by Patrick Phelan, was stolen from the St. John the Evangelist Church parking lot along Jefferson Street late Saturday or early Sunday, city police said.

Truck stolen
A 1997 Ford Ranger owned by Robert Bloom was stolen from his Brown Street home in Everson Sunday morning before 10 a.m., state police said.

A 1990 Toyota pickup truck owned by John Fesh was stolen from his Staufer Street residence in Kingview between 9:30 p.m. Saturday and 9 a.m. Sunday, state police said.

Burglary attempted
The front glass door at the Best for Less gas station on Connellsville Street was smashed with a brick, but the suspects fled after a witness pulled into the parking lot Saturday at 2 a.m., state police said. Police ask anybody with information about the incident to call the station at 724-439-7111.

Car burned
A 1994 BMW owned by Dorothy Boone of Uniontown was reported stolen July 29 and was found burned on East Riverside Road on July 31 at noon, state police said.

Materials stolen
A large quantity of insulated copper wire and aluminum were stolen from the rear yard of Assad Iron Works on Albany Road on Aug. 4 or 5, state police said.

Window broken
City police said a basement window at Trinity United Presbyterian Church on Morgantown Street was found broken Sunday at 7:18 a.m., but the church was not entered.

Disturbance reported
Uniontown police assisted state police with a disturbance involving a crowd of people at the Fairchance Fire Hall at 11:30 p.m. Saturday, city police said. Several people were taken into custody and the crowd was dispersed, police said.

The windshield on a car owned by Joseph Silbaugh was broken late Saturday or early Sunday at 152 W. Berkeley St., city police said.

Charges filed
City police have filed charges against the following individuals in unrelated incidents:
– Timothy Shipley, 27, of Connellsville with retail theft after he allegedly left the West Crawford Avenue Sheetz convenience store Aug. 16 without paying for $30.08 in gasoline. Police said store employees obtained the vehicle registration number.
– Robert Dwayne Black, 71, of Connellsville with harassment after he allegedly grabbed and pushed an unidentified Connellsville woman and caused minor injuries to her arm during an Aug. 17 incident along West Morton Avenue.
– Corey Hann, 22, of Connellsville with retail theft after he allegedly attempted to steal DVDs from Hollywood Video on Aug. 17. Police said store employees heard the cases being opened and reported the incident.
– Ronald J. Walters, 20, of Connellsville with disorderly conduct after he allegedly was found Aug. 17 using obscene language and yelling at a South Cottage Avenue resident.
– Shane Earl Arb Jr., 20, of Dunbar with harassment after he allegedly punched an unidentified female in the face during an Aug. 18 disturbance along Sycamore Street.
– Carrie Lynn Mingrino, 25, of Vanderbilt with retail theft after Dollar General store employees allegedly found her attempting to remove items from the store without paying for them Aug. 18.
– Albert E. Maust, 49, of Connellsville with public drunkenness after he allegedly was found intoxicated Aug. 18 in the 200 block of East Francis Avenue.
– Steven L. Jaworski, 42, of Connellsville with public drunkenness after he allegedly was found intoxicated in the 500 block of McCormick Avenue and pounding on the door of a residence Aug. 20.

Investigations under way
City police are investigating the following unrelated incidents:
– The Aug. 17 theft of a Trek 800 black sport bicycle from a residence in the 500 block of West Crawford Avenue.
– The Aug. 17 theft of a blue, medium-sized ladies purse from a Gibson Terrace apartment.
– The Aug. 17 theft of a battery from a vehicle parked in North Manor.
– The Aug. 16 theft of copper wire from Allegheny Power, located on South Seventh Street. Police said someone cut a chain link fence around the property from a location near the Yough Bike Trail to get to the wire.
– The Aug. 15 theft of a BMX-style bicycle with black pegs from the porch of a North Sixth Street residence.
– The Aug. 16 theft of an 8-foot, white, aluminum, utility cap with ladder racks from a Trump Avenue residence.
– The Aug. 13 theft of $20.11 in gasoline from the Sunoco A-Plus on Memorial Boulevard. Police said the vehicle is described as a grayish-colored Chevrolet Beretta.
– An Aug. 15 criminal mischief in which someone damaged a vehicle parked in the 1100 block of Oak Street. Police said the individual struck the car several times.
– An Aug. 17 burglary in which a gas-powered, remote-controlled monster truck was stolen from a garage in the 100 block of North 12th Street.
– The Aug. 16 theft of several DVDs from Hollywood Video. Police said the theft was reported Aug. 19.
– The Aug. 19 theft of a red, 18-speed Next 20-inch bicycle, with the words “power climber” embossed on it, from an East Murphy Avenue residence.
– An Aug. 19 criminal mischief in which a screen was broken in a window of a residence in the 200 block of South Prospect Street.
