Michael V. Murray
Michael V. Murray, 78, of Buffington, Pa., passed away Tuesday, Aug. 23, 2005, in Uniontown Hospital. He was born Dec. 13, 1926, in New Salem, Pa., son of the late Michael F. and Rose Monahan Murray.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Virginia Davis and his brother, David Murray.
Mike was a member of St. Procopius Roman Catholic Church of New Salem, a veteran of World War II, serving with the U.S. Navy, and a retired employee of Sun Porch Restaurant.
He is survived by his sister, Bridget Maher; his nephews, Dennis Maher and his wife, Nancy of Pittsburgh, and Gerard Maher of Uniontown; his niece, Rosemary Myers and her husband, Terry of Philadelphia; his great-nephew, Michael Maher; and his great-nieces, Katie Maher and Maggie Myers.
Friends will be received in the DEARTH FUNERAL HOME, New Salem, on Friday, Aug. 26, 2005, after 7 p.m., and Saturday, Aug. 27, 2005, until 9:30 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m., in St. Procopius R.C. Church in New Salem, with the Rev. Fr. James L. Popochock as Celebrant. Interment will follow at Salem View Cemetery, New Salem. Military Rites will be accorded at the graveside by American Legion Post No. 753, New Salem. A Parish Wake Service will be held at 7:30 p.m., Friday evening at the funeral home.
