Daniel Edward Wallace
Daniel Edward Wallace, 54, of Uniontown, Pa., died on Wednesday, Aug. 24, 2005, at UPMC Montifiore Hospital, Pittsburgh, Pa. He was born on June 16, 1951, in Uniontown, Pa., a son of Charles and Helen (Mucha) Wallace. His father preceded him in death.
Daniel was a lifelong member of The Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Orthodox Church, Masontown, Pa., He served as a reader and on the church choir. In devotion to his church, he received the Hramota, the highest recognition award that a lay person can receive in the orthodox faith.
An educator for over 30 years with the Albert Gallatin School District, Daniel was a member of PSEA, NEA, and AGEA. He was a graduate of Albert Gallatin High School Class of 1969, received a Bachelor’s Degree in music from West Virginia University, and specialized in computer programming at California University.
Left to cherish his memory are his mother, Helen Wallace of Masontown, Pa.; his wife, Sally (Rittenhouse) Wallace; two daughters, Emily and Elizabeth Wallace, at home; two brothers, Steven Wallace and wife, Anna Maria of Holland, and Thomas Wallace and wife, Kimberly of Clearwater, Kan.; four nieces and nephews, Charlie Wallace, Anna Wallace, who was also a godchild, Tim Wallace and Megan Wallace; godchild, Trisha Repinsky; and many loving aunts, uncles and cousins.
Friends will be received in the HAKY FUNERAL HOME, a Dignity Memorial Provider, 515 North Main St., Masontown, Pa., today from 2 to 9 p.m., and on Saturday until 9 a.m., when a Panachida Service will be held.
The funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., in Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Orthodox Church, Masontown, Pa., with the Rev. Fr. Rumen Stoychev as Celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Mary’s Orthodox Cemetery, Masontown, Pa. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial donations, in Daniel’s memory, to his beloved parish, St. Mary’s Orthodox Church, 309 South Washington St., Masontown, PA 15461. Parastas will be held today at 7 p.m.
