Donald “Mr. Don” E. Stillwagon

Donald “Mr. Don” E. Stillwagon, 76, of Toms River, N.J., the son of Robert Edwin and Daisy Elizabeth (Dishong) Stillwagon of Pennsylvania, passed away on Monday, August 22, 2005 at Community Medical Center, Toms River. Born in McClellandtown, Pa., in 1929, he lived in that area for many years before moving to Toms River, in 1962. He owned and operated Stillwagon Construction for many years in the Monmouth and Ocean County area before beginning a new career as a school bus driver for the Toms River Regional Board of Education in 1990, where he was affectionately known as “Mr. Don”. He was a member of the East Congregation of the Kingdom Hall of the Jehovah Witnesses of Toms River.

He was predeceased by his wife of 55 years, Margaret (Huey) Stillwagon, in 2003. He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Donald and Denise Stillwagon of The Woodlands, Texas, and his daughter and son-in-law, Kathryn and Eric Corbet of Toms River. Also surviving are grandchildren Clifford Corbet and wife, Kimberley, of Little Egg Harbor, N.J., Sean Corbet and wife, Jennifer, and Amy Corbet of Toms River, Matthew Stillwagon and wife Rae-Ann, Michael Stillwagon and Mary Stillwagon, all of The Woodlands, Texas; and “Pap-Pap’s Boys” (great grandsons) Patrick Corbet of Little Egg Harbor, Gabriel and Adaym Corbet of Toms River, and Conall Stillwagon of The Woodlands.

He was predeceased by a brother Robert Stillwagon and sister Mary Elizabeth (Betty) Townsend, and is survived by brothers Wayne, Wallace, and Lee Roy Stillwagon and sisters Dorothy Walters and Lois Guthrie all of Pennsylvania, and many nieces and nephews.

The family received relatives and friends on Thursday beginning at 7 pm with a memorial service beginning at 8 p.m. at the SILVERTON MEMORIAL FUNERAL HOME, 2482 Church Rd, Toms River. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to The ALS Association, Greater Philadelphia Chapter, 312 Norristown Rd., Suite 260, Ambler, PA 19002, in Memory of Margaret Stillwagon, on the passing of her husband.
