Thomas R. Cunningham
Thomas R. Cunningham, age 74 years, of Grindstone, Pa., passed away Saturday, August 27, 2005, in his home. He was born May 30, 1931, in Connellsville, Pa., to the now late Walter Richard Cunningham and Gladys Kreger Cunningham.
He graduated from Connellsville High School in 1949 and then entered into the United States Army and was a veteran of the Korean War.
“Tom” received his Bachelor of Science Degree from Waynesburg College in 1958.
He worked in the United States government for many years for the Department of Agriculture until his retirement.
“Tom” enjoyed his Scottish heritage and going to the Highland Games.
He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 21 in Connellsville, Pa.
Tom is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, May Kaecher Cunningham; two daughters: Allison Heinbaugh and her husband, James, of Connellsville, Pa., and Courtney Ferguson and her husband, Mark, of Portland, Oregon; a son, Ian Thomas Cunningham of Vermont; three grandchildren: Katelyn Heinbaugh, Billy Heinbaugh and Rebecca Heinbaugh; and a brother, Scott Douglas Cunningham and his wife, Claudia, of Barrington, New Hampshire.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the ANDREW D. FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME INC., 80 Morgantown Street, Uniontown, Pa.
The family will receive friends today (Tuesday, August 30) from 2 p.m. until 3 p.m. followed by a Funeral Service and Full Military Rites at the funeral home.
