Shots hit apartments

Two adjacent Hunters Ridge apartments were struck with gunfire Sunday night, but none of the occupants was injured, state police said.

James Walter Wright Jr., 23, and April Lynn Wright, 25, were sleeping on the floor on the first floor of their apartment when a bullet came through the front wall and hit an interior wall at 11:20 p.m.

Myiesha Miranda Michaux, 21, of Brownsville, Jamar Lanell Mosby Jr., 31, of Duquesne, Shawn Maurice Brown, 26, of Clairton and Dana Lee Givens, 25, of Brownsville were in an adjacent apartment that was struck with three bullets. Two shots hit the wall on the first floor, but did not enter the apartment. The third round went through a second-floor window and hit an interior wall.

Police ask anybody with information about the incident to call the station at 724-439-6262.

North Union Twp.

Passenger cited

State police filed a citation against Michael Christopher Fillppone, 22, of Hopwood for allegedly failing to notify police of an accident in connection with a Jan. 8 hit-and-run involving a South Union Township vehicle in which he was a passenger. He was cited by summons through District Justice Deberah Kula’s office.

The driver, Derek Matthew Schiffbauer, 24, of Hopwood, was issued five citations for allegedly hitting a utility pole on North Gallatin Avenue at 3:20 a.m. and abandoning the truck at the scene. Police said both men fled the scene after the accident. The 1991 pickup truck was totaled.

Warrant issued

State police said an arrest warrant has been issued for James Catalogna of Smithfield for allegedly assaulting Joellen Ruth Show of Fairchance on Woodside-Old Frame Road in Smithfield Sunday at 1 a.m. Show was treated at Uniontown Hospital.

German Twp.

Man cited

Todd Alan Mills, 32, Ronco was charged with two counts of harassment for allegedly hitting Mary Jo Riggen, 33, of Ronco and pushing Brian J. Riggen, 18, of Ronco when he intervened Sunday at 6 p.m. at 29 Flynn St. in Ronco, state police said.

North Union Twp.

Theft reported

State police said Walter Guziak, 18, of Hopwood reported that a DVD camcorder and a case of compact discs were stolen from his vehicle in a Fayette Plaza parking lot Sunday at 8:30 p.m.

German Twp.

Two injured

State police said Shawn Drake, 20, and Donna Heeter, 45, were involved in an accident on Messmore Road at Sunshine Hollow Road on Jan. 15. Heeter suffered moderate injuries, and one of Drake’s two passengers, Larry Seehoffer, 23, had a minor injury, police said. Neither Drake nor his other passenger, Clayton Kiefer, 20, was hurt.

Police said Kiefer helped Heeter until ambulance and fire department personnel arrived.
