Anna Mary Sweeney Grindle
Anna Mary Sweeney Grindle, age 79, of Connellsville, Pa., died Tuesday, February 1, 2005, in Frick Hospital, Mount Pleasant, Pa. She was born April 1, 1925, in Leisenring, Pa., a daughter of Dominic Aloysius Sweeney and Winifred King Sweeney.
Anna Mary was a lifelong resident of the Connellsville Area.
She graduated from the now former Dunbar Township High School.
She worked as a Telephone Operator for the former Bell Telephone Company and later worked as secretary for the former Jean King Dance Studio in Connellsville.
Anna Mary was a member of Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church in Connellsville.
Anna Mary loved doing crafts, making costumes, baking, woodworking and making porcelain dolls. She also enjoyed being the family’s historian and genealogist!
Anna Mary was predeceased by her husband, Archie Ray Grindle, on September 26, 2003, and her parents.
Anna Mary is survived by her loving children: Timothy R. Grindle and his wife, Andrea, of Hopwood, Pa., and Debra Mastowski and her husband, Thomas, of Connellsville, Pa.; her grandchildren: Keina Mastowski and Ryan Mastowski; and by her beloved pets: her dog, Jenny, and her cats, Kitty and Cinders.
It was Anna Mary’s wish that there be no viewing.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass which will be held Friday, February 7, at 10 a.m. in IMMACULATE CONCEPTION ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH, 148 East Crawford Avenue, Connellsville, Pa., with the Rev. Father Dennis Bogusz as Celebrant (EVERYONE PLEASE GO DIRECTLY TO THE CHURCH).
A Committal Service and interment will follow in Saint Joseph’s Cemetery, Connellsville.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Alexandra Schaney Cancer Treatment Fund, c/o PNC Bank, 2 East Main Street, Uniontown, PA 15401 in memory of Anna Mary Sweeney Grindle.
