Thomas William Barber Sr.
Thomas William Barber Sr., age 76, of Gibsonia, Pa., and formerly of Brownsville, Pa., passed away on Sunday, January 30, 2005, in Pittsburgh, Pa.
He was born February 24, 1928, in Brownsville, Pa., son of Thomas Barber Sr. and Elizabeth Randolph Barber.
“Tom” had been employed with the City Sanitation Department in Brownsville until his retirement.
“Tom” served in the United States Army and was a veteran of the Korean War.
He was a past member of the Elks Club in Brownsville, Pa.
“Tom” was preceded in death by his wife, Ernestine Stallworth Barber, two children, Janet Stallworth and Thomas Barber Jr., three brothers, five sisters and his parents.
“Tom” leaves behind the following children: Darlene Barber Taylor of Camden, New Jersey, Brenda Barber Born and her husband, Henry, of Uniontown, Pa., and Max Barber and his wife, Jeanne, of Pittsburgh, Pa.; nine grandchildren: Jamie, Joshua, Nasia and Willah-May all of Camden, New Jersey, Jason, Jarvis and Heleneah all of Uniontown, Pa., Thaddeus and Jonah both of Pittsburgh, Pa.; nine great grandchildren; the following sisters and brothers: Millie Smith and her husband, Jim, of New York, Dorothy Barber and Shirley Barber both of Richmond, Indiana, Kathleen Barber of Monessen, Pa., Glenn Barber, Mathew Barber and Raymond Barber all of Pittsburgh, Pa., and Richard Barber of California state; many sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; and a host of nieces and nephews, friends and family.
“Tom” will be deeply missed by all that knew him!
Friends will be received in the MURIEL E. LANTZ FUNERAL HOME, 297 East Main Street, Uniontown, Pa., today from 5 to 9 p.m. where Services will be held Friday, February 4, at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Leonard Tucker officiating.
Interment will follow in Pleasant View Cemetery, Smock, Pa.
