Joseph A. Murin, Sr., 68, of Smock, Pa., died suddenly Wednesday, Feb. 2, 2005, at home. He was born May 15, 1936, in Smock, Pa., a son of the now late John and Mary (Borovy) Murin.

Friends will be received in the STEPHEN R. HAKY FUNERAL HOME, INC., a Dignity Memorial Provider, 603 North Gallatin Avenue Ext., Uniontown, today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and Saturday, Feb. 5, 2005, until 9 a.m., when prayers of transfer will be said. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10 a.m. in Saint Hedwig Roman Catholic Church with the Rev. Fr. John A. Sedlak as celebrant. Interment will follow in Saint Hedwig Cemetery, Smock, where military rites will be accorded by George C. Marshall, AMVETS Post 103 of Hopwood. A vigil service will be held in the funeral home today at 3:45 p.m.
