Evangelist to visit World Christian Outreach Ministries, 503 W. Georgia Ave., Connellsville, welcomes missionary-evangelist Bill Parks and team members of REACH Ministries on Sunday at 10 a.m. Blending drama, song, testimonies and preaching, the service will highlight the cross-cultural ministry that has year-round short-term mission outreaches into Mexico, Central and South America. The ministry also distributes Bibles and Gospel literature along with food and clothing in conjunction with a USA/Mexico border ministry in squatter camps.
Parks is an ordained minister of the Assemblies of God. He and his wife, Joyce, are graduates of Faith School of Theology of Maine. They have two grown sons.
Workshop scheduled
The Fleet Reserve Association, Steel City Branch 253, in conjunction with the Bureau of Employment and Career Services, will sponsor a veterans workshop at the office of Career Link, 135 Wayland Smith Drive, Uniontown, on Thursday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
The workshop will address veterans and their spouses on the various benefits, programs and services available to them, such as disability benefits, education and training benefits, prescription drug programs and a range of social services to assist in readjusting from war-time military service for the veteran and his family.
