Walter and Cheryl Kurosky of Smithfield announce the engagement of their daughter, Jennifer Leigh, to Gary L. Barber Jr. of Smithfield, son of Gary and Debbie Barber of Smithfield. The bride-elect is the granddaughter of Charles and Jean Yasechko of Smithfield and Doris Kurosky of Uniontown. She is a 1999 graduate of Uniontown Area High School and a 2003 graduate of California University of Pennsylvania with a degree in elementary education. She is employed as a substitute teacher.

Her fiance is a 1998 graduate of Albert Gallatin High School and earned a degree in civil engineering in 2002 from West Virginia University. He is a district pavement management engineer at Pennsylvania Department of Transportation in Uniontown.

They are planning a summer wedding.
