Rose Eleanor Rodavich Zorich
Rose Eleanor Rodavich Zorich, age 96, of Carmichaels, Pa., died at 7:05 p.m. on Friday, February 4, 2005, in Greene County Memorial Hospital, Waynesburg, Pa.
She was born November 13, 1908, in Smock, Pa., a daughter of Eli and Katie (Basara) Rodavich.
Mrs. Zorich was a member of Saint George Serbian Orthodox Church in Carmichaels, The Circle of Serbian Sisters, Kola Sisters of the Church and the Serbian National Federation Lodge.
She was also a member of Cumberland American Legion Post 400 Auxiliary, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 4793 Auxiliary in Waynesburg, Carmichaels Senior Center, Saint Hugh Senior Activity Group, Carmichaels Democrat Women’s Club, Cootiette Club No. 373, Greene County Farm Women and the Carmichaels Area Women’s Civic Club.
On May 7, 1996, Mrs. Zorich was honored for her 25-year membership in Carmichaels Grange No. 1389.
She was a former Chairperson for the Greene County Chapter of the American Heart Association.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alex Zorich Sr., her parents, a daughter, Caroline Phillips, and a stepdaughter, Anna Phillips.
Surviving are two sons: Eli Zorich and his wife, Eva, of Waynesburg, Pa., and Alex Zorich and his wife, Helen, of Chester Springs, Pa.; two daughters: Rose and her husband, James Domen, and Jean and her husband, Paul Martin, all of Shiremanstown, Pa.; 17 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; five great-great grandchildren; a brother, Edward Radovich of Silver Spring, Maryland; and two sisters: Anna Kaprive of Masontown, Pa., and Libby Kumper of Pittsburgh, Pa.
Friends will be received at the YOSKOVICH FUNERAL HOME, Martin J. Yoskovich, Funeral Director, 300 South Vine Street (Route 88), Carmichaels, Pa., on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday, February 8, from 9 a.m. until 10:30 a.m.
Funeral Services follow at 11 a.m. in Saint George Serbian Orthodox Church, Carmichaels, with the Rev. Father Rodney Torbic officiating.
Interment will follow in Saint George Serbian Church Cemetery.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to Saint George Serbian Orthodox Church, 296 Old Route 21, Carmichaels, PA 15320.
