Woman shot by husband
ROSTRAVER TWP. – A 48-year-old woman died after being shot in the chest by her husband Friday, officials said. Katherine Wickerham of Bonnie Street was pronounced dead at 8:48 p.m. in the emergency room of Monongahela Valley Hospital, said Washington County Coroner Timothy Warco.
Wickerham’s husband, Thomas Wickerham, was taken into custody by the Rostraver Township Police Department.
The couple, according to Warco, was allegedly involved in a domestic dispute when at least one shot was fired. Warco said the shooting occurred inside the couple’s residence around 8 p.m.
Police said they will continue to investigate the incident, as will detectives from the Westmoreland County District’s Attorney Office.
