Elizabeth M. Freiberg, 91, of Uniontown, Pa., and formerly of Footedale, Pa., passed away Monday, Feb. 7, 2005, at her residence. She was born Nov. 6, 1913, in Brownfield, Pa., a daughter of Andrew Balash and Anna Hunchuck Balash.

Elizabeth was a member of St. Procopius and St. Thomas Church of New Salem, the R.A.C.M. of St. Procopius Church, the Confraternity of Christian Mothers of St. Thomas Church, and the Menallen Grange 1091.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Adam S. Freiberg in 1973; a sister, Anna Balash; two brothers, Joseph Balash and Paul Balash; and her parents.

Surviving are daughters, Barbara Grimes and husband, Gerald of Uniontown, Pa., Carol Duckworth and husband, James of Akron, N.Y., Colette Freiberg, with whom she made her home, of Uniontown, Pa., and Sharon Berish and husband, John of New Salem, Pa.; grandchildren, Ken Duckworth, Cindy Lucas and husband, Rich, Debra Ramos-Herrera and husband, Jesus, Jerry Grimes, Joe Berish and Laura Tomasek and husband, Jake; great-grandchildren, Andrew Duckworth, Dalton and Corey Lucas and Amaya and Joshua Ramos-Herrera; a sister, Anna Balash of Masontown, Pa.; and a brother, Charles Balas and wife, Shirley of Smithfield, Pa.

Friends will be received in the ROBERT T. KISH FUNERAL HOME INC., 20 North Mill St., New Salem, Pa., on Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m., Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and Saturday, Feb. 12, 2005, until 9:30 a.m., when a Prayer Service will be held. A Funeral Mass follows at 10 a.m., in St. Procopius Church, with the Rev. Fr. James L. Popochock as Celebrant. Interment will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Leckrone, Pa. Menallen Grange 1091 will conduct services on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. A Parish Wake Service will be held on Friday at 3 p.m.
