Geibel announces program
As part of Catholic Schools Week, Geibel Catholic announced the Geibel Catholic Middle School Enrichment program. It was developed in cooperation with St. John the Baptist, St. John the Evangelist, St. Mary, Conn-Area Catholic, St. Sebastian, All Saints and Holy Rosary schools.
The program also received its developmental direction from the Office for Catholic Schools of the Diocese of Greensburg.
The purpose of the new initiative is to provide opportunities for students to enrich and explore their personal talents through participation in fine arts and athletic programs that serve the particular intellectual, spiritual, physical, psychological and social needs of middles school students.
The programs offer parents a model of Catholic education that reinforces continuity from one level to the next, removing as much as possible the anxiety associated with the planning for their child’s education after the sixth grade.
The first event that was a direct product of this new program was the Middle School Forensics Tournament held at the high school, which is located in Connellsville, recently.
