Raymond V. Bednarowicz, 82, of Greensburg, Pa., formerly of Scottdale, Pa., passed away Sunday, Feb. 6, 2005, in IHS, Greater Pittsburgh, Hempfield Township. Ray was a retired steward and manager at A & P Tea Company, with 34 years of service. Ray also served as manager of Williamsburg East Apartments, Greensburg, for 21 years, and previously worked as manager of the Scottdale IGA under Mel Hernley.

Ray graduated from Scottdale High School with the Class of 1940.

Ray will be sadly missed by his devoted family: his wife of 51 years, Beverly Sann Bednarowicz; his three children, Mark Bednarowicz of Greensburg, Christy Murdoch of Scottdale, and David Bednarowicz and wife, Marla of Hunker; four grandchildren; a sister, Evelyn Kiliany and husband, Thomas of Everson; a brother, James Bednar of Hollywood, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received on Wednesday from 1 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., in the Robert B. Ferguson Funeral Home, 105 Spring St., Scottdale, where a prayer service will be held on Thursday at 9:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Scleraderma Research at University of Pittsburgh, in memory of Raymond Bednarowicz.
