William “Bill” E. Gibson
William “Bill” E. Gibson, 68, of Masontown, Pa., passed away Sunday, Feb. 6, 2005, at Ruby Memorial Hospital, with his loving family at his bedside. Bill, a beloved husband and father, was born on Aug. 16, 1936, in Brownsville, Pa., a son of the now late Robert and Pauline (Collins) Gibson.
During the Korean War, he served with the United States Army 501st AAA BN, Gun Crewman. He was an auto body repairman by trade, formerly employed with Fike Chevrolet of Masontown, for 15 years.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sisters, Jean Yanculik and Faye McKahan, as well as his brother, Donald Gibson.
He is survived by his loving wife of 34 years, Patricia (Jordan) Gibson; sons, William E. Gibson and wife, Connie of Smithfield, Pa., and James R. Gibson and wife, Lisa of McClellandtown, Pa.; a daughter, Janine A. Anthony and husband, William (Tony) of Hopwood, Pa.; brothers, Thomas Gibson and wife, Susan of McClellandtown, Pa., and Gerald Gibson and wife, Helen of Masontown, Pa.; sisters, Janet Campbell and husband, Jack of Royal Oak, Mich., and Sandra Kudla and husband, Ronald of Maryville, Mich.; grandchildren, Jonathan, Brooke, Brandon, Shayne, Jenna, Shannon and Sabrina; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received in the HAKY FUNERAL HOME INC., A Dignity Memorial Provider, 515 North Main St., Masontown, Pa., today from 7 to 9 p.m., Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and on Thursday until 11 a.m., the hour of service, with the Rev. Timothy Tanner officiating. Interment will follow in Church Hill Cemetery, where military honors will be accorded by Faith-Gray-McArdle VFW Post 4584 and Fort Mason American Legion Post 423.
