DAR presents awards to essay winners and names Good Citizen
Colonel Andrew Lynn Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) honored the winners of the American history essay contest and the recipient of the Good Citizen award. The essay topics were “Along the Trail with Lewis & Clark and the Corps of Discovery, May 1804-September 1906; and “Christopher Columbus, Though Not Perfect, a Hero.’ Taking part were, seated (at left) Clarissa Sessler and Hazel Williams, DAR sponsors; winners are, standing, (from left) Cal Andrew Marva, a fifth-grade student at George C. Marshall Elementary School, Laurel Highlands School District; Rebecca Lynn Freas, eighth grade student at Redstone Middle School; Breanne Tomi, Good Citizen award, daughter of David and Cindy McElroy of McClellandtown, a student at Albert Gallatin Senior High school; Tiffany Davis, a junior at Albert Gallatin High School, and Nicole Gray, a senior at Albert Gallatin High School. All students received certificates and medals. Lynn Keller Brown is the DAR regent.
