Feb. 12, 2005 Program to help parents

The staff and administration of Connellsville Junior High East are planning a program to help parents of children who are struggling academically. The staff is concerned about students who are failing multiple subjects. If your child falls into this category and you are concerned, this program will help you.

A “Parents Only Dinner Meeting” will be held, at no cost, on Feb. 17, beginning at 6 p.m. in the cafeteria. Following dinner, the group will assemble in the auditorium for a workshop that includes: identifying characteristics of a struggling student, how to get good grades at school, how to set-up an environment at home that promotes a positive learning experience and a homework strategy that works.

According to the administration, this meeting can assist parents in creating a positive learning environment in the home so the child can be more successful at school.
