Eleanor Mattie King
Our beloved mother, Eleanor H. Mattie King, age 76, of West Brownsville, Pa., passed away Thursday, February 10, 2005, in Washington Hospital, Washington, Pa.
She was born November 6, 1928, in Maple Glenn, Pa., the daughter of the now late Pete and Helen Mattie.
Eleanor enjoyed gardening, crocheting and bingo.
She was a past member of West Brownsville American Legion Post 940 Ladies Auxiliary, West Brownsville V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary and the Brownsville Eagles.
In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her husband, Andrew King, one brother, Raymond Mattie, and one sister, Mildred Mattie Sousarczyk.
She is survived by two sons: Andrew King and his wife, Tanya, of Masontown, Pa., and Frank King and his wife, Sharon, of West Brownsville, Pa.; one daughter, Melissa and her husband, Brian King, of Grindstone, Pa.; and one brother, Pete Mattie of Brownsville, Pa. Also surviving are five grandchildren: Brian King, Aaron King, Andrea King, Matthew King and Gina King; several nieces and nephews; and Special Friends from Twin Oaks Home Care and Comfort Keepers.
The family will receive friends at the NOVAK FUNERAL HOME (formerly Confer Funeral Home), 515 Front Street, Brownsville, Pa., today from 7 to 9 p.m., Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday, February 15, until 11 a.m., the hour of Service with the Rev. Alexander Jalso officiating.
Interment will follow in LaFayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill, Pa.
