Yolanda Garella Mekovich Kuhns, age 86, formerly of Allison 2, Pa., passed away Thursday, February 10, 2005, in LaFayette Manor, Uniontown, Pa.

She was born January 11, 1919, in Ligonier, Pa., a daughter of Pietro Garella and Caroline Cerutti Garella.

Yolanda was a member of Allison Christian Church, had worked as a teacher’s aide at Cox-Donahey School, and was formerly employed at Authenriths in Brownsville, Pa.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, George “Lefty” Mekovich, her second husband, William T. Kuhns, a grandson, John David Mekovich, a sister, Mary, brothers, Mike and John, and her parents.

Surviving are a son, George Mekovich and his wife, Margie, of Clinton, Maryland; daughters: Caroline Worrell of Frederick, Maryland, Marie Wright of Grindstone, Pa., and Patty Kuhns of Brownsville, Pa.; grandchildren: George and Stacy Mekovich, William and Annie Mekovich, Wesley and Dawn Worrell, Jobie and Leanna Wright, and Kerri Lynne Worrell; great-grandchildren: Theresa, George, Mitchell and Austyn Mekovich, Kayla Worrell, Chloe Wright and Eme Worrell; a sister, Josephine Harrison of Winona, Texas; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law; numerous nieces and nephews from the Garella, Mekovich and Kuhns families; and many neighbors and friends who each held their own special place in her heart.

Friends will be received in the ROBERT T. KISH FUNERAL HOME, INC., Legion Street, Republic, Pa., today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday, February 14, until 11 a.m., the hour of Service with Pastor Michael Peton officiating.

Interment will be in LaFayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill, Pa.

Visitation was also held Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m.
