Karen M. Adzima McCloy Whiting, age 53, of Belle Vernon, Pa., died Saturday, February 12, 2005, in Shadyside Hospital, Pittsburgh, Pa.

She was born January 18, 1952, in Pittsburgh, Pa., a daughter of the now late Michael Adzima and Sophia (Wheat) Adzima.

As a former resident she attended the United Methodist Church in Roscoe, Pa.

She graduated from the Douglas Business School in Monessen, Pa., and also California University of Pennsylvania in California, Pa., where she received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Social Work.

She was employed as a Social Worker by the Washington County (Pa.) Department of Aging.

She is survived by her husband, Richard Whiting; a daughter and son-in-law, Kelli and Frank Schell, and two grandsons, Frank Schell II and Michael Schell, all of the North Hills, Pittsburgh, Pa.; a step daughter, Brooke Whiting, and a step granddaughter, Kassadie Rice, both of Fredericktown, Pa.; a sister and brother-in-law, Michelene and Tom Clark of West Milford, West Virginia; a brother and sister-in-law, Michael and Linda Zimm of Fayetteville, West Virginia; also nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received in the ED MELENYZER FUNERAL HOMES INC., 1008 Furlong Avenue, Roscoe, Pa., on Tuesday, February 15, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Funeral Service will be held in the Funeral Home on Wednesday, February 16, at 12 noon with Pastor Terry Teluch of the Roscoe United Methodist Church officiating.

Interment will follow in LaFayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill, Pa.
