Volunteers sought
Ohiopyle State Park is looking for people interested in serving as volunteer campground hosts throughout the summer.
Volunteers will serve as a “live-in” host at the campground by greeting and assisting campers and performing light maintenance. Campsites with electricity are available for this position.
For more information, call the park office at 724-329-8591 Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Seat check scheduled
The state Department of Transportation, in partnership with the Pennsylvania State Police, will sponsor a child car seat check today from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Uniontown Central Fire Station.
Certified child passenger safety technicians will on hand to check car seats and instruct parents on the proper installation of the seats.
Pennsylvania law requires that children under age 4 be secured in an approved child passenger restraint system. Children between 4 and 8 years of age must be secured in a seat belt system and an appropriately fitting child booster seat.
Statistics have shown that as many as 75 percent of child passenger seats are installed incorrectly.
