Floyd W. Abel, 91, of Elizabeth Township, Pa., died Wednesday, Feb. 16, 2005, in Jefferson Hills Manor, Jefferson Hills Boro, Pa. He was born Oct. 3, 1913, in Shoaf, Pa., son of the late John and Carrie Tuttle Abel.

Floyd was a welder for Reliance Steel Corporation of Versailles, Pa., and was retired after 30 years of service.

Surviving are his wife, Mildred (Cunningham) Abel; a daughter, Dolores J. Abel Semcoski, at home; a son, Wilbert William Abel of Pelham, Ala.; four grandchildren; one great-grandson; three sisters, Edna Swaney of Uniontown, Pa., Dora Campbell of Uniontown, Pa., and Goldie Backos of Sutersville, Pa.; and a brother, Elmer Abel of Greencastle, Pa.

Friends will be received in the PAUL E. BEKAVAC FUNERAL HOME, 221 Second St., Elizabeth, Pa., on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and on Saturday, Feb. 19, 2005, until 11 a.m., the hour of services, with the Rev. Thomas D. Carr officiating. Interment will be in Round Hill Cemetery, Elizabeth Township, Pa.
