Mary Bennie
Mary Bennie, 98, of Uniontown, and formerly of Lemont Furnace, Pa., died Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2005, in Brownsville General Hospital, Brownsville. She was born on Feb. 13, 1907, in Youngstown, Pa., a daughter of the now late John and Mary (Kuch) Bennie.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, George Bennie, Nicholas Bennie, Michael Bennie and his wife, Kathryn, Peter Bennie and his wife, Kathryn and John Bennie.
Mary was a member of St. John The Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church, and a member of St. Cecelia’s Confraternity of Christian Mothers.
Surviving are her brother, Charles Bennie of Pittsburgh, Pa.; and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received in THE STEPHEN R. HAKY FUNERAL HOME INC., A Dignity Memorial Provider, 603 North Gallatin Ave., Ext., Uniontown, today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and on Friday, Feb. 18, 2005, until 10:30 a.m., when a Panachida Service will be held, followed by Divine Liturgy at 11 a.m., in St. John The Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church, with the Rev. Fr. Kevin E. Marks as celebrant. Interment will be in St. John Byzantine Cemetery, Hopwood. Parastas will be held tonight at 7:30 p.m.
