Ruth B. Slattery, 83, of Uniontown, Pa., died Tuesday, Feb. 15, 2005, at her residence. She was born Oct. 11, 1921, in Newboro, Pa., a daughter of the late Joseph E. and Anna Hattina Burian.

Also preceding her in death were her husband, Raymond M. Slattery; and three sisters, Ethel Dahl, Irene Bailey and Elsie Walters.

Surviving are two sisters, Dorothy Jean Burian McMahon and her husband, Robert of Pittsburgh, Pa., and Evelyn Jarvis of Leetsdale, Pa.; a brother-in-law, Paul Dahl of Hopwood, Pa.; and nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Slattery formerly worked at Keystone Transfer and Quinn Freight Lines and attended Calvary United Methodist Church.

Friends will be received in the JEROME W. SHELL FUNERAL HOME, 164 South Mt. Vernon Ave., Uniontown, Pa., today from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m., and on Friday until 11 a.m., the hour of service, with the Rev. Maryann Long officiating. Interment will follow in Sylvan Heights Cemetery.
