John J. Bobbish Jr.
John J. “Horse” Bobbish Jr., age 62, of New Salem, Pa., passed away Wednesday, February 16, 2005, in Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, West Virginia.
He was born September 3, 1942, in New Salem, Pa., son of John J. Bobbish Sr. and Ann (Lemanitz) Bobbish.
He was a member of the Saint Procopius Roman Catholic Church in New Salem, the Newboro Indians Club and the Fairbank Rod and Gun Club.
John was a retired heavy equipment operator and a member of Operators Local 66 in Connellsville, Pa.
He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Rosemarie Rondelli Bobbish; a son, John Bobbish III and his wife, Cecile, of New Salem; a daughter, Christine Bobbish of Bronxville, New York; and his sister, Patricia Bobbish of Uniontown, Pa.
John was a great animal lover and in addition to his family is survived by his cherished pets, Shane, Snowball and his grand-dog, Wiley. Over the years, John, Rose and their children shared their home and enjoyed their other wonderful pets, who have since passed on: Copper, Valentine, Muffin, Butch, Duke, Lady and Bozo.
Friends will be received in the DEARTH FUNERAL HOME, 35 South Mill Street, New Salem, Pa., today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Saturday, February 19, until 9:30 a.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial follows at 10 a.m. in Saint Procopius Roman Catholic Church, New Salem, with the Rev. Fr. James L. Popochock as Celebrant.
Interment will follow in Saint Thomas Church Cemetery, Footedale, Pa.
A Parish Wake Service will be held in the Funeral Home today at 3:30 p.m.
