Clarence Frank Kanapky, 86 years, of Uniontown, Pa., died Thursday, February 17, 2005, in Cherry Tree Nursing Center, Uniontown.

He was born June 6, 1918, in Fairchance, Pa., son of Vera Ruble.

Frank served in the United States Army as a Technical Sergeant for 10 years including World War II in the Asiatic Theatre and the European-African-Middle Eastern Theatre.

He was a member of V.F.W. Post 47 in Uniontown, First Baptist Church in Fairchance, Pa., Laurel Lodge 651 F. & A.M., 32nd Council Chapter Consistory Valley of Pittsburgh and the Scottish Rite Valley of Uniontown and was a former member of the Hutchinson Sportsmen’s Club and The Circle Club, Uniontown.

He was employed for many years as a coal miner with Duquesne Light’s Warwick Mine until his retirement. He was a member of United Mine Workers of America Greensboro Local 6310.

Frank loved traveling and touring the United States of America.

Frank was predeceased by his parents, stepfather, brothers and sisters, Thomas Ruble, Jane Miller, Robert Ruble and Leon Ruble.

Surviving are his wife of 59 years, Betty Jean Humbert Kanapky; two daughters: Twillet Jean Rosner and her husband, Richard, of Lemont Furnace, Pa., and Diana C. Dils of Hopwood, Pa.; six grandchildren: Richard Dale Rosner Jr., Wesley Rosner, Jan Michael Rosner, Donald A. Dils IV, Angela Dils Warner and Tiffany Dils; three great grandchildren: Kellsie Warner, Noah Warner and Kailey Dils; and sisters and brothers: Kathryn Milazzo, Bernice Hlatky, Delores Ruble, Arthur Ruble, Esther Mankins, Lois Jenkins and Bernard Ruble.

The family will receive friends in the DEAN C. WHITMARSH FUNERAL HOME, 134 West Church Street, Fairchance, Pa., this evening from 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Additional viewing on Monday, February 21, in the FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH, 17 North Morgantown Street, Fairchance, Pa., from 9 a.m. until 10 a.m. Services begin at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Robert Ford officiating.

Interment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery Veterans Section, Fairchance, Pa., where Military Rites will be accorded by Uniontown V.F.W. Post 47.

Laurel Lodge 651 F. & A.M. will hold Services on Sunday at 7:30 p.m.
