Veronica “Roni” T. (Yedrzeyek) Augustine
Veronica “Roni” T. (Yedrzeyek) Augustine, age 85, of Uniontown, Pa., died on Friday, February 18, 2005, in Mount Macrina Manor Nursing Home, Uniontown. She was born on July 9, 1919, in Keisterville, Fayette County, Pa., daughter of Peter and Caroline (Matras) Yedrzeyek.
Veronica was a member of Saint Joseph Roman Catholic Church in Uniontown, Charter Member of Saint Joseph’s Confraternity of Christian Mothers, a member of The Catholic War Veterans Auxiliary, and formerly had been a Saint Vincent DePaul volunteer.
Her beloved husband, Andrew “Andy” A. Augustine, died on Friday, January 18, 2002. She was also preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Richard and Peter Yedrzeyek, and one sister, Alberta Yedrzeyek.
Left to cherish her memory are two children: Carolyn A. Augustine of Waynesburg, Pa., and Peter A. Augustine and his wife, Pamela, of Budd Lake, New Jersey; two grandchildren: Amanda Megan Augustine of New York City, New York, and Andrew Martin Augustine of Budd Lake, New Jersey; a brother, Paul Yedrzeyek and his wife, Florence, of Searights, Fayette County, Pa.; two sisters: Ann Giordano and Blanche Bush both of Florida; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received in the STEPHEN R. HAKY FUNERAL HOME INC. AT SYLVAN HEIGHTS CEMETERY, A Dignity Memorial Provider, 603 North Gallatin Avenue Extension, Uniontown, Pa., on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and on Tuesday, February 22, until 10 a.m. when Prayers of Transfer will be said.
A Mass of Christian Burial follows at 10:30 a.m. in Saint Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Old Walnut Hill Road, Uniontown, with the Rev. Father Alexander J. Pleban as Celebrant.
Interment will follow in LaFayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill, Pa.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Mount Macrina Manor Nursing Home, 520 West Main Street, Uniontown, PA 15401.
The Catholic War Veterans Ladies Auxiliary will conduct services in the Funeral Home on Monday at 3:30 p.m.
Saint Joseph’s Confraternity of Christian Mothers will recite the Rosary in the Funeral Home on Monday at 7 p.m.
Saint Joseph’s Parish Family Vigil by The Ministry of Consolation on Monday at 7:15 p.m.
