Wanda J. Zapolski
Wanda J. Zapolski, 80, formerly of Uniontown, Pa., died Sunday, Feb. 20, 2005, at Austinburg Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born April 8, 1924, in Thompson, Pa., the daughter of John Stanley and Josephine (Gzywa) Zapolski, and had been in Ashtabula resident for the past 1 1/2 years.
Prior to her retirement, she worked as a waitress for Maloney’s Italian Restaurant in Uniontown, Pa. She also worked as a parking lot attendant for the City of Uniontown.
She enjoyed bowling, traveling and testing her luck at Atlantic City.
Her survivors include one daughter, Beverly (Leonard) Deneen of Ashtabula; three grandchildren, Carolyn Powers, Charles (Marguerite) Deneen and Michel (Carl) DeLembo; and eight grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m., on Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2005, at St. Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Uniontown, Pa., when the Rev. Fr. Alexander L. Pleban, Pastor, will preside. Burial will be in St. Joseph Roman Catholic Cemetery, Hopwood, Pa. Calling hours will be from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., today (Feb. 22, 2005), at the STEPHEN R. HAKY FUNERAL HOME INC., 603 North Gallatin Ave., Ext., Uniontown, Pa. Contributions may be made to the Hospice of your choice.
