Anthony N. Caruso
Anthony Nicholas Caruso, 92, of Knoxville, Md., formerly of California, Pa., died Monday, February 21, 2005. He was born November 24, 1912, in Monessen, Pa., a son of the late Nicholas and Frances (Passifumme) Caruso.
He was a WWII Veteran, serving in the Army with the 991st Engineering Treadway Bridge Company. He received the Good Conduct Medal, the Distinguished Unit Badge, the American Theater Service Medal, and the European African Middle Eastern Service Medal with 5 bronze stars and one Bronze Arrowhead.
In addition to his parents, Anthony was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Jean (Glott) Caruso (2000); sister, Grace Roefaro; and brothers, Patsy, Raymond, Francis and John Caruso.
Left to cherish his memory is his daughter, Mary Frances Caruso of Knoxville, Md.
Friends will be received in the MARISCOTTI FUNERAL HOME., Anthony N. Mariscotti, Supervisor, 323 Fourth Street, California, Pa., today from 7 to 9 pm, and until 10:30 a.m., on Friday, when a Blessing Service will be held in the funeral home followed by an 11 a.m., Mass of Christian Burial in St. Thomas Aquinas Roman Catholic Church, with the Rev. Fr. Mark Skertich as Celebrant. Interment will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery.
