The Brownsville Area Ministerial Association honored two Bible teachers at the Annual Prayer Service for Christian Unity. Pictured from left are: Robert Smith; the Rev. Dr. Herman Jackson, pastor of Mount Lebanon Baptist Church, Brownsville; honoree Carol Smith; honoree Jack Brower; the Rev. James Cherry, pastor of First Baptist, Pitgas; and Mrs. Brower. Carol Smith and Jack Brower received the Christian Community Service Award 2005 from the Brownsville Area Ministerial Association at the Annual Prayer Service for Christian Unity held recently at First Methodist Church of Brownsville.

Pastors and members of area churches gathered to worship and honor two Bible Released Time teachers.

Smith, a member of Mount Lebanon Baptist Church of Brownsville, has taught the junior high class since its inception more than 10 years ago. Brower, a deacon and member of First Baptist Church in Pitgas, served with Smith for 10 years, retiring last spring.

The Bible Released Time program promotes knowledge of the Bible to public school students and is sponsored by the Brownsville association and supported through the prayer and financial support of Brownsville area churches.
