Brian A. Leighty
Brian Alan Leighty, 38, died suddenly Wednesday, Feb. 23, 2005, at Highlands Hospital, Connellsville. He was born June 24, 1966, in Connellsville, a son of Daniel and Mary (Russman) Leighty of Leisenring.
Brian was a graduate of Connellsville High School, Class of 1984, and the Pittsburgh Electronic Institute in 1993, with an Associate’s Degree in Electric Technology. He was employed as an electrician by Sensus Technologies. He was a member of Leisenring Presbyterian Church, the Juniata Sportsman Club, Fayette County 8-Ball League, Sons of Italy, Connellsville, and was an avid softball player.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Robin Ann (Campbell) Leighty; two children, Garrett and Alexandra Leighty, all of Leisenring; a sister, Susan Dillow of Leisenring; a brother, Daniel Leighty and wife Cynthia; aunt, Barbara Gettemy; mother-in-law, June Campbell, all of Connellsville; two sisters-in-law, Taryn and Michael Dorman of Everson and Kristen Ranker and companion Jim Tartel of Connellsville; six nieces, Amy Dillow, Seanna Kessler, Samantha and Kisha Huffine, Kelsey Dorman, Megan Ranker; a nephew, Chase Ranker; a close cousin, Kevin Hann and wife Robin and their children, Devin, Karissa and Tyler Hann, all of MS; also many wonderful uncles, aunts and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, William and Mabel Russman; a cousin, Barry Hann; paternal grandparents, John D. and Ida Leighty; and his father-in-law, Peter Campbell.
Friends will be received Saturday from 2 to 9 p.m., in the PAUL G. FINK FUNERAL HOME, INC., 418 North Pittsburgh Street, Connellsville. A memorial service will be held Sunday at 1 p.m. in the Leisenring Presbyterian Church with Pastor Rick Watson officiating.
