Sponsors needed The Downtown Uniontown Business District Authority needs sponsors for its Storey Square Summer Lunch Series.
The annual lunch series, which includes live entertainment, food and refreshments, will be held every Friday in Storey Square on Main Street from June 3 to Aug. 28.
Sponsors are needed each week. Businesses that sponsor events may set up promotional displays, DBDA officials said.
The DBDA’s second annual Arts in the City festival has been scheduled for Sept. 11 from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Artists and craftspeople interested in participating should call the DBDA at 430-2909.
Food vendors and entertainment already have been arranged.
Also, at Wednesday’s meeting, the DBDA conducted its annual reorganization and re-elected Mark Rafail as chairman.
Steve Neubauer was elected vice-chairman and Brian Ludy was elected treasurer. The board appointed Mark Cockfield to replace Ed Hyjurik, who resigned.
The board also approved changing its monthly meeting dates to the first Tuesday at 11:30 a.m. in City Hall.
Church plans service
Dunlap’s Creek Church, also known as the Old Stone Church, 502 Twin Hills Road, Merrittstown, worships Sunday at 11 a.m. with guest minister Ross Ackinclose.
Group to perform
One Touch, a family singing group from Lemont Furnace, will perform at United Mountain Christian Fellowship, 603 Braddock Road in Farmington, on Sunday at 6 p.m. For more information, phone 724-329-1681.
Workshop scheduled
Shiloh Church of God in Christ, 55 Butler St., Uniontown, will present Hands That Praise, a mime workshop, on Friday, March 4, from 7 to 9 p.m. for ages 20 and older and on Saturday, March 5, from noon to 4 p.m. for ages 8 and older. This workshop will be followed by a concert on Saturday, March 5, at 6 p.m.
The instructors are Channell and Monique Campbell of Trinity Church of God in Christ in McKeesport. The objectives are the importance of praise and worship, discipline, facial expression, unity within the ministry, entrance and exit, creativity and not being one’s self. The Rev.
