State police arrested a Uniontown man Wednesday for allegedly robbing the Amoco gas station on Route 40 in Hopwood at 1 p.m., just as one of the victims confronted him at his apartment.
Police said Kevin Augustine Trombetta Jr., 32, of Bryson Boulevard entered the station wearing a hood with holes cut out, brandishing what appeared to be a semi-automatic pistol, and robbed Ronald Marcus of Hopwood. According to police, Trombetta managed to run away, and Charles Marcus chased him. Marcus stopped, went back to the station, got his vehicle and drove to Trombetta’s apartment. Marcus saw someone who looked like Trombetta hide what he thought was a weapon behind his back and called to him, police said, adding that they arrested Trombetta as he was approaching Marcus.
