Donald E. LeJohn
Donald E. “Ducky” LeJohn, age 70, of California, Pa., died Friday, February 25, 2005. He was born May 13, 1934, in Daisytown, Pa., son of George LeJohn and Theresa (Maruschak) LeJohn.
“Ducky” was admired and respected by all who knew him.
He was a member of Monongahela Valley Lodge F. & A. M. No. 461, John F. Kennedy American Legion Post 377 in California, Pa., and the Association of Professional Ball Players of America.
He was an avid sportsman and loved hunting and fishing.
He spent his career with the Los Angeles Dodgers as a player, then manager, and finally as a scout. The pinnacle of his career was playing in the 1965 World Series.
“Ducky” and Irene had just celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on January 15, 2005.
In addition to his wife, Irene (Huber) LeJohn, left to cherish his memory are their children: Donnie E. LeJohn Jr. and his wife, Theresa, of Lexington, South Carolina, Leslie Scott LeJohn and his wife, Angie, of Daisytown, Pa., and Jody A. LeJohn of West Brownsville, Pa. He also leaves behind nine grandchildren: Matthew LeJohn, Lauren LeJohn, Jamie LeJohn, Renah LeJohn, Scott Michael LeJohn, Allie LeJohn, Julia LeJohn, Sydney Lifchez and Morgan Lifchez; a nephew, Todd Edwards; and numerous other nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received in the MARISCOTTI FUNERAL HOME INC., Anthony N. Mariscotti, Supervisor, 323 Fourth Street, California, Pa., on Monday, February 28, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral Services will be held in the Funeral Home at 8 p.m. with the Rev. Jana Quisenberry officiating.
