Betty R. Beatty Lynn, age 77, of Point Marion R.D. and formerly of Dilliner, Pa., died Sunday, February 27, 2005, at home with her family at her side.

Born in Dilliner, Pa., on December 24, 1927, she was a daughter of Charles and Mary Ellen (Smitley) Beatty.

She was predeceased by her husbands, William Lynn Sr. and Joseph Sapp, a son, Ricky Lynn, brothers, Edward, James and Gene “Jiggs” Beatty, sisters, Valetta Brown and Dorothy Byrne, and parents.

She is survived by four children and their spouses: William and Debbie Lynn, Allen J. “JoJo” and Cheryl Lynn, Charles and Tina Lynn and Donna and Donald Sapp all of Point Marion R.D.; two stepsons: Joe Williams of Texas and Arthur Engle of Smithfield, Pa.; a daughter-in-law, Evelyn Proffitt of Point Marion, Pa.; 14 grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren; sisters: Kathryn Brown of Dilliner and Leona David of Cleveland, Ohio; brothers: Robert Beatty of Dilliner and Joseph Beatty of Morgantown, West Virginia; and by a number of nieces and nephews including two special nieces, Norma Hlatky and Barbara Stevulak, both of Dilliner.

Friends will be received in the RICHARD R. HEROD FUNERAL HOME, 501 Morgantown Street, Point Marion, Pa., today from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.

Visitation continues Wednesday, March 2, in NILAN APOSTOLIC CHURCH from 9 a.m. until 10 a.m., the hour of Service with the Rev. Charles Ruble officiating.

Interment follows in Springhill Union Cemetery, Lake Lynn, Pa.
