Helen Furin Comforti
Helen (Furin) Comforti, age 87, of Connellsville, Pa., died Saturday, January 8, 2005, in Mount Saint Macrina Manor, Uniontown, Pa. She was born May 9, 1917, in Dawson, Pa., a daughter of Joseph Furin and Anna (Kirtos) Furin.
Helen was a member of Saint Stephen Byzantine Catholic Church in Leisenring (Pa.) and its Ladies Guild.
She was a loving homemaker.
She was preceded in death by four brothers, Steve, Nick, John and Joseph Furin, two sisters, Mary Furin Pollock and Anna Furin Perger, a daughter-in-law, Judy Comforti, a grandson, Brian Comforti, and her parents.
She is survived by her son, Joseph Comforti of Masontown, Pa.; her daughter, Cathy Comforti Phillips of Connellsville, Pa.; two grandchildren: Kristi Comforti of Masontown and Joseph Phillips of Connellsville; also many nieces and nephews. Helen was the last surviving member of her immediate family.
Visitation will be held in the PAUL G. FINK FUNERAL HOME INC., 418 North Pittsburgh Street, Connellsville, Pa., on Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. where a Panahida Service will be held Tuesday, January 11, at 9:15 a.m.
Divine Liturgy follows at 10 a.m. in Saint Stephen Byzantine Catholic Church, Leisenring, with the Rev. Father Joseph Kapusnak as Celebrant.
Interment will follow in Saint Rita’s Roman Catholic Cemetery, Connellsville.
Parastas Service will be held in the Funeral Home on Monday at 8 p.m.
