Stanley J. Joswick, 90, of Uniontown, Pa., passed away suddenly on Sunday morning, Jan. 9, 2005, in his home. Born July 8, 1914, in Uniontown, Pa., he was the son of the late Stanley Joswick and Marie Hensh Joswick.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary Sikora Joswick on June 16, 1992; and his brothers, Victor Joswick and Henry Joswick.

Stanley was a member of St. John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, Jefferson Street, Uniontown. He was an Usher for over 25 years and also a member of The Parish Council. A World War II veteran, he served in the Army and was a member of VFW Post 47.

He is survived by his loving children, Stanley R. Joswick and wife, Nancy of Brunswick, Ohio, James J. Joswick and wife, Marcella of Orange Park, Fla., Barbara Bell and husband, Terry of Uniontown, Joseph D. Joswick and wife, Dawn of Geneva, Ohio, and William C. Joswick and wife, Nancy of Uniontown; seven grandchildren, Rosemary Plent, Charles Joswick, Brian Bell, Jacqueline, Jenna and Josie Joswick and Lisamarie Joswick; great-grandchildren, Jennifer Prebish, Christopher, Annie, Nicole and Matthew Plent and Charles and Austin Joswick; and nieces and nephews, cousins and friends.

Friends will be received in the STEPHEN E. KEZMARSKY FUNERAL HOME, AT 71 PENNSYLVANIA AVE., UNIONTOWN, PA., today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and Wednesday morning until 9:30 a.m., when Prayers of Transfer will be said, followed by a 10 a.m., Mass of Christian Burial in St. John the Evangelist R.C. Church, with the Rev. Fr. William J. Kiel, Rev. Fr. Jim Vasil and his cousins, Rev. Fr. Alexander J. Pleban, Rev. Fr. Leo Pleban and the Rev. Fr. David Nazimek as concelebrants. Interment will follow in St. Thomas Cemetery, Footedale, Pa. Parish Wake Service will be held at 8:30 p.m., today. Military honors will be accorded at graveside.
