Tuesday’s article stating that Long Branch Borough was added to the Southwest Regional Police force was incorrect. Although the borough is negotiating a contract with the department, one has not yet been signed. Belle Vernon Mayor James Bitonti said that a meeting will be held in Long Branch on Jan 18 and “it will be their call.” He said that there will possibly be a joint announcement if they do decide to join the police department.
