Frank A. Shemansky Sr.
Frank A. Shemansky Sr., 64, of Daisytown, Pa., died Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2005. He was born May 20, 1940, in California, Pa., a son of John and Regina Malinsky Shemansky.
Mr. Shemansky was a coal miner for Vesta Mining Company, for 13 years, before serving three consecutive terms as West Pike Run Township Supervisor, totaling 18 years.
He was a member of St. Nicholas Byzantine Catholic Church in Brownsville, Pa., the Sinemahoning Sportsman’s Club, Daisytown Athletic Club and the Young Men’s Club of California. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, bird watching (especially hummingbirds) and gardening.
On Aug. 27, 1960, he married Nancy E. Zelina, who survives. Also surviving are two sons, Frank Shemansky Jr., and his wife, Dr. Melissa Grupen-Shemansky of New Hope, Pa., and John J. Shemansky and his wife, Jodie Lynn of Canonsburg, Pa.; one daughter, Wendy Jo Shemansky of Daisytown, Pa.; four grandchildren, Broderick, Danae, Madison and Cameron Shemansky; his mother, Regina Shemansky of Daisytown; and one sister, Dolores Snedeker of Daisytown.
Deceased, in addition to his father, John Shemansky; are two brothers, Anthony and John Shemansky; and two sisters, Velma Parry and Helen Kuhn..
