Mother seeking help to find her daughter, 14
Wendy Anderson doesn’t believe her 14-year-old daughter Jessica ran away, but hopes that someone sees the missing girl and calls her or state police. Jessica “Jessie” Anderson, 14, was last seen Jan. 1 at her grandparents’ house at 554 East Main Street in Uniontown and state police believe she ran away during the early morning of Jan. 2.
She is described as approximately 5 feet 3 inches tall, 100 pounds with shoulder length black hair and brown eyes.
She was wearing a dark charcoal-colored hooded sweatshirt; jeans and cloth leopard skin high-top tennis shoes.
Anderson said she believes Jessica may have met someone over the Internet and left to meet the person, but that person “turned the tables on her.”
“When she left she didn’t pack a bag. She left her cell phone charging,” she said. “I think she met with somebody who turned on her.”
She said Jessica received some nice clothes for Christmas, but didn’t take any of them. Jessica also is a cancer patient, but she didn’t take with her the medication she has to take daily, her mother said.
“It’s not like her to do this. She never ran away. She’s never been in trouble with police,” Anderson said. “I’m just worried she’s with someone now and they have her and there’s nothing she can do.”
She said she believes that Jessica would have called at least one of her friends or a family member if she had run away.
Anderson has been posting signs with Jessica’s photo on utility poles in Uniontown, Brownsville and Connellsville.
Anderson said people have been tearing down some of the signs and she tries to replace them with new signs, adding frustration to her worry.
The signs ask anyone who sees Jessica to call her mother at 724-439-1275, her grandparents at 724-437-5247 or the state police at 724-439-7111.
